The topic of this essay in “What Is Social Networking Addiction?” by Leslie Walker is about addiction to social media. A person becomes addicted to social media when it interferes with other aspects of their daily lives. The author’s purpose of writing this essay is to inform and define social networking addition. Walker argues that addiction usually refers to compulsive behavior leads to negative effects. A social media addict could be considered someone with compulsion to use social media for hours on end without a purpose. Walker concludes that heave uses of internet can cause impair on people’s performance with family relationships, school, and work.
