In the essay “Is google Making Us Stupid” by Nicholas Carr, he shares the
idea that internet and social media has a huge effect by making us a society
stupid. He claims that when a person spends an amount of time surfing the
web, it causes hardships and difficulty focusing and thinking. The internet
causes Carr to have problems reading and focusing from reading straight out
from a book. Carr has also found two bloggers name Scott Karp and Bruce
Friedman who have experience and dealt with the same problem. Social Media is
a tool that we have unlimited access to. There are many pros and cons to
social media. It is not about the world of social media, but depends on us as
a society how we use this tool. Many people has come to rely on social media
for their understanding of the world. The access of internet gives us any information
in a very fast, efficient, and easy way. It takes less than seconds to pull
up any topic just about anywhere in the world. Our human minds are starting
to think like computers.
