In the essay "How Social Media is Changing Business" by Jason Daley, the main idea is that social media reshapes businesses. Social media allows companies to have connections and communications directly and frequently to clients. Daley's purpose to writing this essay is to inform his audience that social media has made a huge impact on businesses' success. Social media is transforming every aspect of business. For example, the MyStarbucks blog connects Starbucks representatives with consumers directly and submitting suggestions for improvements. Starbucks is one of the many companies and business that uses social media to improve their business. Charlene Li, a world's leading thinker and co-founder agrees with Daley. He predicts that companies that do not get on social media bandwagon soon, within 3-5 years will not survive. According to University Of Maryland Smith School of Business poll in 2009, the percentage of small business using social media double from 24% from 12%. Social media helps bring in traffic, improvements, and success to businesses.
